Rehab

Have you ever spent time in a rehab ? Did it work for you ? What kind of facility was it ? Were you locked up ?

Some rehabs are really helpful. They have a closed area where everyone is free to behave. It is like any other place unless you look for a door out. You will get a TV, prayer room, social sessions and so on.

Some of them are a bit hard on us. A room with a locked door. That is something you won't want to be on you for long.

I've never spent time in an 'official' rehab unit but I've sort of done my own version of rehab to cleanse my head about a busy and tough period of my life. As I've mentioned in another thread on this forum, I took a long trip to North Italy and stayed local for a week and a bit. I did that on purpose to cut 95% of all my connection to my home (minus my family) so that I could reset myself and just get lost in something other than personal circumstances and an ever-growing workload. It was bliss and I came back to the UK feeling so much better.

That is a good idea. I visit my aunt when I feel like taking a break. She is very nice and it is like going to a resort. All you need to do is use the sofa and TV. A very caring person. My uncle is also very comfortable to talk to. This house was our regular take a time off destination because of all those tasty dishes we get.

I can totally understand that @Harry! My nan's is my comfort place - just like you described, it's a warm home, a comfy sofa and TV I can use to my hearts content. Alongside that, I get the sweetest human that is my nan and some very lovely food that never fails to remind me of my childhood.

You are very lucky. Only a very few are blessed with such comfort. After all, grandparents are the best thing that can happen in this world.

My grandparents were lovely too. They treat you like you are the only person in this world.

I've never been to rehab before, I'm lucky in the sense that I've never needed to, but I can understand it'd be a very scary and strange place for people to go to, especially the first time too.

I have never been in a situation where I had to be taken to a rehab. I did have some addition issues and mehtal health issues, but thankfully I was able to solve these issues in my own.

I've never gone to a rehab home or used any of it's facilities before. The reason is because, I never suffered from any health related illness, I don't engage in drug abuse. But to be candid, rehab home is helpful for those experiencing mental dis order and other sort of health issues.
