Amish Goulash​

1 cup elbow macaroni
Boiling water
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cups celery, chopped
1 (2 ounce) can mushrooms, undrained
1 green pepper, chopped
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce or 3 cups tomato juice
1/2 cup ketchup
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup water
Place macaroni in small bowl. Cover with boiling water ; let set. While macaroni blanches, cook ground beef and onion in heavy saucepan. Drain fat. Drain macaroni and add to meat along with celery, mushrooms, pepper, tomato sauce, ketchup, seasonings, and water. Mix thoroughly. Cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
