  • While Talk Mental Health offers a platform for peer support and shared experiences, it is not a substitute for professional mental health assistance. If you find yourself in genuine danger or experiencing a mental health crisis, please reach out to qualified professionals. In the UK, you can contact emergency services by dialing 999. For non-emergency support, consider reaching out to organizations like Samaritans at 116 123. In the USA, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is available at 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255). For support in Australia, contact Lifeline at 13 11 14 or Beyond Blue at 1300 22 4636. Your well-being is our priority, and seeking professional help is a crucial step towards your mental health journey.

Therapist Liability Nonsense

I asked my therapist if I can see her twice a week because I feel I need the extra support. However, she said she can't do that because the counseling center's liability insurance says people who need to be seen more than once a week are a liability problem and need a higher level of care. I applied for the higher level of care a few times but they said I don't qualify. A few months ago I went to the psych ER but they sent me home saying I should seek outpatient treatment. Now my case manager gave me the contact info of a person to go to with complaints about not getting services so I guess that is my next step. Ugh, so fed up though, mental health care shouldn't be so hard to access.

Mental health care is the same here in the UK. I was discharged without warning. An awful lot of cutbacks here.

I know USA is totally different than here so if you want to complain then I would do it @Butterfly88 everyone should get good care.
