List making - OCD

I realised recently that I do this , all the time and it doesn't actually help my anxiety any more I think it is contributing to it! anyone else experience this? I have daily planners, journals, to do lists, notebooks, organisers, ( I do love stationery! ) but feel it becomes something of an obsession, I am starting to miss important stuff rather than it helping me. Some how it gives me comfort though knowing it is in a nice list , preferably highlighted.

I find myself frequently making lists, but seldom updating them or even referring back to them.. 😆

Sometimes I think it just helps to jot a few thoughts or ideas down on a bit of paper.

Hmm this might help you but it also can turn it into chaos as list usually include words and most words are not the same length.

I love list making!! I never considered it to be OCD but if it's causing you to not follow the actual lists then you're right, it's an obsession. My family relies on me now to make the lists for anything we do or anywhere we go. There was one time I got tired of being everyone's planner and did NOT make a list. Do you know how frustrating that was to not do it? Well, we forgot something that would have been obvious on my list for our trip and I shrugged my shoulders and said, well, make your own list next time.

So what stops you from actually following through on your list?

I usually watch a movie or telenovela or write some, it's good for me, my T said.
