No Illegal Content
Do not post, request, promote or link to illegal content, including threats, harassment, hate crime, fraud, terrorism content, child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate images, or content encouraging serious harm.

Self-Harm and Suicide Safety
You may talk about difficult feelings, but do not encourage, instruct, pressure or assist anyone to self-harm or die by suicide. Graphic methods, instructions, countdowns or encouragement will be removed.

Crisis and Immediate Risk
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact emergency services. In the UK call 999, or contact Samaritans on 116 123 for 24/7 emotional support.

Be Respectful
No personal attacks, bullying, harassment, intimidation, dogpiling, threats, stalking, or targeted abuse.

No Hate or Abuse
Do not attack people based on protected characteristics, identity, disability, mental health, race, religion, sex, sexuality, gender identity, age or nationality.

Respect Privacy
Do not share private messages, screenshots, names, addresses, workplaces, social profiles, photos, or identifying information without consent.

No Sexual or Exploitative Content
Do not post explicit sexual content, exploitative material, or intimate images shared without consent. Sexual content involving anyone under 18 is strictly prohibited and may be reported.

No Impersonation, Scams or Manipulation
Do not impersonate others, run scams, mislead members, exploit vulnerable people, or ask members for money, gifts, personal details or financial information.

No Spam or Unsafe Links
Do not post spam, malware, phishing pages, unsafe downloads, advertising, referral links, or self-promotion without staff permission.

Report Problems
If you see illegal, harmful or rule-breaking content, use the report button. Do not retaliate, argue, quote harmful content, or escalate the situation.

Moderation and Enforcement
Staff may edit, hide, remove or restrict content and accounts to protect users, comply with the law, or maintain community safety.

TalkMH does not allow illegal content or content that creates a serious risk of harm.
Reports may be reviewed by moderators, content may be removed, accounts may be restricted,
and serious matters may be escalated where legally required.

- Repeat or severe breaches may lead to permanent account removal.
Mental Health Posting Guidance
You are welcome to share how you feel, but please avoid detailed methods, instructions,
graphic descriptions, or content that could encourage another person to harm themselves.
- Use supportive language.
- Do not pressure people to act.
- Do not romanticise suicide or self-harm.
- Encourage urgent help where someone may be at immediate risk.

What Happens After a Report?
Reports are reviewed by the moderation team. Depending on the issue, staff may take no action,
remove content, contact the user, issue a warning, restrict access, ban an account,
or escalate serious concerns.
Appeals and Mistakes
If you believe moderation action was taken in error, you may contact the staff team politely and ask for a review.
Abusive appeals or repeated arguments may be ignored.
