Are You a Hoarder?

TLDR: Are You a Hoarder?
In the forum thread, the majority of users expressed that they are not hoarders and prefer to keep their living spaces uncluttered. Users like Ozzy47, roseberri, kikipetie, marti, Pitszal, pat, Guest, Kivessin, Lisa, toetapping, and Emerald all mentioned their dislike for clutter and their tendency to discard items that are not in use. On the other hand, user Foxy shared a personal struggle with hoarding, linking it to sentimental attachment and symptoms of AD/HD, such as procrastination and a tendency to clutter. Foxy's confession elicited a supportive response from Catsmother, who mentioned a similar behavior in her aunt and emphasized that there is no shame in hoarding. Overall, the thread highlights a general preference for decluttered spaces among the participants, with a note of empathy and understanding towards those who hoard due to emotional reasons or cognitive traits associated with AD/HD.
True confession time, unfortunately I have to admit I am a hoarder. I need to part with things I hold onto for sentimental reasons but will never use. I have always had a tendency to clutter which I only recently found out is very common for people who have AD/HD like myself. I have cleared out my clutter a thousand times in my mind, but I'm also a terrible procrastinator (another hallmark of an AD/HD person.) I hate the way my brain is wired, it makes life more difficult than it has to be at times.

My Aunt is the same and she even has magazines and newspapers that are years old.

I'm not a hoarder either. I have a hard time watching those kinds of shows too.
