Amish Hearty Hamburger Soup
2 tablespoons butter1 pound ground beef
1 cup onion, chopped
2 cups tomato juice
1 cup carrots, sliced
1/2 cup peppers, chopped
1 cup potatoes, diced
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/4 cup flour
4 cups milk
Melt butter in saucepan and brown meat. Add onion and cook until trans. parent. Stir in tomato juice, carrots, peppers, potatoes, salt, pepper, and seasoned salt. Cover and cook over low heat until vegetables are tender, about 20 to 25 minutes. Combine flour with 1 cup milk and stir into soul mixture. Bring to a boil. Add remaining milk and heat through.
