Will You Get the Vaccine?

TLDR: Will You Get the Vaccine?
In a forum thread discussing the willingness to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, opinions varied significantly among users. Some members, like s_still_here and Butterfly88, expressed a clear intent to get vaccinated to protect themselves and others, particularly vulnerable populations. They emphasized the community aspect of vaccination and the desire to return to normal life. CMJA81, who works in emergency services and is participating in a vaccine trial, shared a personal perspective on the necessity of vaccination given their exposure and familial concerns. Conversely, several users, including Emerald, kikipetie, and Spice, stated they would not get the vaccine. Reasons ranged from skepticism about the vaccine's efficacy and duration to a general avoidance of vaccines like the flu shot. Pitszal and Lee mentioned they would consider vaccination only if it proved highly successful or after assessing its long-term effects. A few users, such as Catsmother and marti, remained undecided, voicing uncertainty about whether to receive the vaccine. Diane15 suggested prioritizing the vaccine for those in dire need, a sentiment s_still_here supported by explaining that vaccine distribution typically prioritizes high-risk groups. Overall, the thread showcased a spectrum of views based on personal health philosophies, perceived risks, and the influence of individual circumstances on decision-making regarding the COVID-19 vaccine.

It’s a shame really as I didn’t want to go. I wanted to protect and care for the person I love. But without her again it’s all a bit pointless.
