Online resources

How much do you trust online resources for medical and health-related information ? I used to read a lot which comes in our local newspaper. Then I understood that those are either for fame or for their supplementary benefits.

I do not trust online advice. Not only health-related, but I am a bit doubtful about tech, politics and other areas where there is a big chance for manipulation.

You have to be cautious when looking online for resources, basically don’t trust the first thing you see and do a bit of due diligence and research things.

I get a lot of advice from some aunts and uncles in the family. When I ask who told you this, they say it was there in WhatsApp / Facebook. They even have remedies for cancer. It is making a soup out of certain leaves. Well, spreading misinformation is no child's play. Those people really have an imagination beyond ordinary.

The only site I will trust when I go online is the NHS website. The Scottish NHS website as a self diagnose tool which is quite useful. Other than that, all the others will say you have a terminal illness when you actually have a splinter in your finger.

ha ha. True, very true.

It is pathetic the kind of information that roams the internet. And curse those digital marketing people who help it spread all over us.

It helps to have a reliable resource on hand. Especially a verified one.

I don't trust online resources regarding health advise unless it's from an official medical organisation. There's way too many sites out there giving bad information and it's always vague to include every possible thing so it's never accurate anyway.
