Have You Had the COVID Test?

TLDR: Have You Had the COVID Test?
The forum thread discusses individual experiences and opinions regarding COVID-19 testing. Key points include: 1. **Testing Experiences**: Most users describe the test as uncomfortable but manageable. Common sensations include sneezing, gagging, and temporary discomfort, particularly with the nasal swab. Repeated testing tends to lead to habituation, making the process feel less daunting over time. 2. **Frequency of Testing**: Some users undergo regular testing due to their jobs or past COVID-19 infections, while others have not been tested at all, either due to lack of symptoms or limited access to testing in their areas. 3. **Emotional Reactions**: There is a range of emotional responses, from nervousness and fear, particularly about the discomfort of the nasal swab, to reassurance offered by others who have been tested multiple times. 4. **Accessibility and Eligibility**: Several users express frustration over the perceived inequities in testing availability, noting that in some places, certain groups, including hospital staff like cleaners and porters, do not have easy access to tests. 5. **Outcome and Advice**: Users who have completed the test often encourage others, sharing that while the test can be momentarily uncomfortable, it is generally quick and manageable. The thread includes supportive exchanges where users reassure and motivate each other regarding testing. 6. **General Sentiment**: Despite varied individual experiences and some logistical challenges, the overall sentiment in the thread leans towards advocating for testing when necessary and supporting each other through the process.
I haven't - although, I haven't been out of the house much and haven't had any symptoms, so I've had no particular reason to get tested.

Good luck with your test results!

i havent had one

apparently the hospital where i work, us cleaners are not worthy of testing, same as porters and catering
Nurses dont get them either AFAIK. I know for certain they dont on the ward that my mother works on. They might have access to a booking system though, but dont quote me on that.
