Feeling hopeless and depressed

TLDR: Feeling hopeless and depressed
In the forum thread, Butterfly88 expresses feelings of hopelessness and depression, mentioning that therapy and current medication levels are insufficient. Despite the psychiatrist's reluctance to increase medication, they recommend DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), which Butterfly88 agrees to try. Forum members offer support and share personal experiences, suggesting various coping mechanisms like taking things slowly and exploring alternative therapies such as meditation, yoga, and mindful meditation. Butterfly88 shares specific medication details, indicating a complex regimen without typical antidepressants due to adverse reactions. Other users suggest discussing medication concerns further with healthcare providers and exploring additional or alternative therapies, including integrative or naturopathic approaches. The discussion also touches on the financial constraints of accessing certain types of healthcare, with Butterfly88 relying on Medicaid, which limits options to more conventional treatments. Users empathize with the struggle of finding effective treatment within these constraints and encourage persistence in seeking relief from symptoms. Overall, the thread is a mix of sharing personal struggles, offering emotional support, and discussing various medical and alternative approaches to managing severe depression and mental health challenges.
I don't know if you have heard of singing bowl therapy. Do some research on the singing bowl and see if anyone offers this service in your area. This is one of the best alternative therapy for depression, anxiety, and stress.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes, I do have mental illness. There are three main classes of antidepressants and they all gave me pretty serious side effects when I tried them. So I’m on a mood stabilizer instead because it’s better than nothing.
Hope you are feeling better @Butterfly88

I've taken one antidepressant that gave me quite bad side effects as well. I was on another one which gave me some side effects but overall it helped me a lot in the end.

Look after yourself. xx

Have you used any alternative healing methods? What kind of alternative healing methods have you used to curb depression. By the way, faith heling also works for depression.

I think feeling hopelessness happens when we don't have been thinking from the different point of view. And that can be something we have to avoid doing. And we have to think of our own life first and if we can learn to do that then solving those problems become lot easier as well. I know it's a bit difficult and does not happen overnight.

Hmm, interesting. Thanks!
