Locked in yet another hotel room.

The anxiety I get being away from home is horrible, but yet I keep taking these jobs. Almost like I enjoy torturing myself.

I can empathise as I had to work away frequently when I was a training manager for a video rental company. I worked all over the country and some places were OK whilst others were horrendous. It's searching for that light at the end of the tunnel where you can see your way home.

The best place I had to work in, back in the day (I have no idea what it will be like now) was Hull. I really enjoyed my stay there. The worst place was Ipswich, I couldn't wait to leave there.

It's unsettling to be away from your family and familiar surroundings, but if it's your work, then you're doing it as much for your family as for yourself, so take comfort and some pride in the efforts you are making to ensure their comfort and happiness; you're a good family man Lee.

I'm sure your family is very grateful for your efforts!! Do you ever bring anything with you from home like a framed photo or something that might bring you a bit of comfort?

I've worked away for almost 30 years; I took a year off of being on the road; however, I'm back to being away again; this time, it's not too bad as I'm gone for 7 days but home for the next 7.😐
