I'm sorry to hear that your family members had bad experiences with these medications. Unfortuently all drugs have side effects. It is wise to be aware of the side effects of any medical treatment. I agree antibiotics are often overprescribed, though I have found them helpful when they are truly necessary.
 
I was poisoned by Cipro, I know the effects all too well! Sorry to hear your daughter was affected, it's awful living with the side effects!
 
While reading the blog on the Cipro I found within it a lot of info on the
importance of Vit B6 and how many could need to be taking extra B6 and I do take
50-mg with my sleep recipe, some say 100mg or more can be taken by adults.

Again depending on one's diet.
