Ranchero Supper Stew

Ranchero Supper Stew
2 tablespoons oil
1 1/2 pounds beef cubes
1 envelope onion soup mix
2 (16 ounce) cans tomatoes, undrained
1 cup water
2 to 3 tablespoons chili powder
2 carrots, thinly sliced
2 potatoes, diced
1 can whole kernel corn, drained
1 can English peas, drained
In large skillet, heat oil and brown beef; add soup mix blended with
tomatoes, water and chili powder. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 30
minutes. Add vegetables. Cover; cook for 1 to 1 1/2 hours over low heat.
