Horseback riding

TLDR: Horseback riding
In the forum thread, Lammchen discusses their limited experience with horseback riding, noting that their exposure was mainly through occasional trail rides during vacations, which they describe as more passive "sitting on a horse" rather than actively riding. Lammchen, who grew up in the suburbs with no regular access to horses, expresses a perception that their experience does not constitute true "riding." They seek to learn about other forum members' experiences with horseback riding, asking if others participate in this activity and how long they have been doing it.
I've only been horseback riding a few times in my life. I grew up in the suburbs where horses weren't around so when we went on vacation we would rent horses for trail rides. That really isn't "riding", it's more like sitting on a horse guide.

Do you do horseback riding? How long have you been doing this?
