Favorite Mashed Potatoes
5 pounds potatoes, scrubbed, peeled and cubed
2 sticks butter
1/2 to 1 cup milk, depending on how thick you like your potatoes
1 1/2 to 2 teaspoons salt
1 to 2 teaspoons pepper
Place potatoes into pot of water. Bring to a boil. Boil for 25 minutes; drain well. Place butter into large bowl. Add drained potatoes. Beat with mixer until smooth. Add 1/2 cup milk. Beat until well blended. If necessary, add more milk if potatoes are too thick. Add salt and pepper. Beat until combined.
