Sour Cream Garlic Mashed Potatoes From Teresa

Sour Cream Garlic Mashed Potatoes From Teresa

Serves: 8-10
Source: PIL Cookbooks Thanksgiving Recipes

Ingredients:

2 pounds red potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks
6 cloves Garlic, peeled
1/4 cup Butter (1/2 stick)
1 cup Sour cream
1 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon White pepper

Instructions:

1. Place potatoes and garlic in large saucepan; cover with water. Bring to a
boil over high heat. Reduce heat; simmer 20 minutes or until potatoes are
tender. Drain; return to saucepan. Mash potatoes; add butter. Stir in sour
cream, salt and white pepper.

Makes 8 to 10 servings

Tip: For more texture, leave the potatoes unpeeled when boiling in water
with garlic.

Note: White pepper is a mild version of black pepper. They both originate
from the same berries, which are called peppercorns. White pepper helps to
maintain consistent color in light foods.
