Charcoal or gas grill?

TLDR: Charcoal or gas grill?
In the forum thread, Lammchen initiates a discussion on the preference between charcoal and gas grills. Lammchen mentions a preference for gas grills due to their convenience and quick start-up time compared to charcoal grills, which require about half an hour for the briquettes to warm up. Lammchen also notes that using fresh ground chuck on a gas grill does not compromise the taste of the burgers, despite a personal historical preference for charcoal-grilled burgers within the family.
Do you prefer to use a charcoal or gas grill?

My mom always preferred the taste of a burger on a charcoal grill but I prefer the convenience of a gas grill. A simple press of a button and my grill is on and heating up so there is less wait time compared to charcoal briquettes that need to warm up for a half hour or so. I don't think there is any bad taste from having a burger on a gas grill if you buy fresh ground chuck.
