Are you suffering from anxiety? Do you have anxiety history?

TLDR: Are you suffering from anxiety? Do you have anxiety history?
In the forum thread, Nomad shares a personal realization of experiencing minor anxiety symptoms after taking a test, despite previously not identifying with having anxiety issues. This insight comes despite their spouse having a history of anxiety that required medication. Lavalamp, another user, responds by relating their own struggles with severe and debilitating anxiety, agreeing with Nomad's definition of anxiety as excessively living in one's head. Lavalamp describes the experience as being overwhelmed by consuming thoughts and a tendency to assume the worst. The exchange concludes with Lavalamp expressing concern for Nomad's spouse's well-being.
In plain English, anxiety is "you live in your head way too much." I never thought I had anxiety issues until I took an anxiety test where I answered questions. Based on my answers, the test result showed that I showed some minor anxiety symptoms. Interestingly, I never have had any issues. However, my spouse was under medication for anxiety.

I suffer from anxiety and have done for a long time. It has been very debilitating for me at times and occasionally I can't really function as I'm completely overwhelmed with panic.

I would agree with the definition that it involves living in your head way too much. Thoughts just seem all consuming and so real. Plus I tend to assume the worse a lot of the time.

Hope your spouse is doing okay.
