APPLE WALDORF LAYERED SALAD

CREAMY DRESSING:
1 c. dairy sour cream
3/4 c. pineapple juice
1 c. salad dressing
1/8 tsp. salt
Blend the sour cream, pineapple juice, salad dressing and salt until smooth; set aside.
2 c. green Delicious apples, cored
2 c. red grapes, halved (seed if necessary)
2 c. green grapes, halved (seed if necessary)
2 (1 lb.) cans pineapple chunks
1 c. maraschino cherries, drained & stemmed
1/2 c. chopped pecans
Cut red Delicious apple into chunks; set aside. Prepare the green Delicious in the same manner. Drain the pineapple and pour the juice over the apples.
Three fourths cup of the juice may be used for the creamy dressing.
In a 4 quart glass bowl or a trifle bowl layer the green apple chunks, red grapes and well drained pineapple. Cover the pineapple with half of the Creamy
Dressing. Make a ring of maraschino cherries around the edge of the bowl pushing them down into the pineapple. Cover the pineapple with green grapes and
finally the red apple chunks. Cover the apple with the remaining Creamy Dressing. Garnish with chopped pecans. Yield: 8 to 10.
