Anyone Know Anything About IBS?

TLDR: Anyone Know Anything About IBS?
In the forum thread, user Catsmother expresses concerns about potentially having Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and shares symptoms such as embarrassment due to frequent urgent bathroom needs. Eagleheart responds by confirming they have IBS and describes similar symptoms including diarrhea, constipation, stomach pains, bloating, and gas. Eagleheart advises Catsmother to consult a doctor as medications can control the symptoms effectively and mentions that stress and anxiety can trigger IBS. Catsmother acknowledges stress as a possible factor for her condition. Other users, LittleTooMuch and stluee, chime in with their experiences, emphasizing the importance of identifying dietary triggers. LittleTooMuch notes specific triggers like lactose and bread, suggesting Catsmother monitor her diet closely. Eventually, Catsmother visits her GP, who suspects she has IBS and refers her to a specialist clinic. The thread highlights the shared struggles among users with IBS, the importance of medical consultation, and managing the condition through understanding personal triggers and medication.
I am sure that I have it, does anyone on here have it?
I am a coward and won't call my doctor. I think that I have had it for about 2 years.

Not to sound gross or anything but I have felt embarrassed when I am out and I need to run the toilet.

I have IBS @Catsmother . It causes diarrhoea and/or constipation and lots of stomach pains. Also causes bloating and gas. I've been caught short when I've been out in public. It's extremely embarrassing. If I'm having a bad IBS day I try to stay at home so I'm near the toilet. But if I have to go out I wear a pad.
There are meds to treat it and they control the symptoms well. It's nothing to be embarrassed about. I would recommend speaking to the doctor about it.

I have it! It's horrible, I know what my triggers are though so I try to be as good as I can and avoid my food triggers otherwise I have bad constipation and stomach cramps but yeah the stress side of it isn't as easy to avoid

Its terrible! I have to be real careful what I eat, if I intend to go out the next day. I get it about every other day. Usually in the afternoon.

See if there's a specific food that iriitates it more for you

Thank you @LittleTooMuch and @stluee
You're both right it is horrible.

I am not sure what could be the trigger. I am going to watch what I eat from now on.
Mine are I'm lactose intolerant but I have had IBS since a very young baby so I tend to be okay with chocolate, milk and yoghurt but if I have ice cream or warm milk (in hot drinks) I suffer really bad. Bread is also a trigger

I eat a sandwich for supper maybe it is bread.

So I have just got back from seeing my GP, She thinks I have IBS too and she is referring me to the incontinence clinic or Gastro clinic :(
