Hi all,

My name's Chris, I'm 33 and originally from Bolton, England, though presently living in Arizona in the US. I saw the link on a different site and thought I would have a look. I recognize a couple of names from other sites, and it's great to see those people here! It's nice to meet everyone here :)

Thank you, Catsmother, you have a very nice community here! Taking a look through a few threads I can see that you've got a very warm and supportive group of people here, and that's absolutely fantastic!

Thank you for the lovely comments.

Yeah everyone is very friendly and care about each other :)

Welcome Chris,
Its nice to meet you. Thats a long way from Bolton you are now.

The people here are nice and friendly. I hope you will feel at ease here.

Indeed, a very long way from Bolton :). I've had a bit of a nomadic life -- started in Bolton, moved to Bristol, spent time in Wales, Scotland, Finland, then back to Bristol, then made the move to the US in California, then to Arkansas, then a move to Texas, and I've been bouncing around Arizona since then. A bit of an accidental nomad, as I really don't like moving, but most of the early moves were family-mandated and I was just a youngster :D.

So far everyone is indeed nice and friendly and it's been a great experience :)

welcome to the group Chris, wow what's it like living in Arizona?

Thank you :) Arizona is quite nice, we don't really get any extreme weather here, though the summers are very hot! The upside to that is, when it gets too hot, we can travel a couple of hours north to Flagstaff and be in the cooler mountain areas!

Welcome aboard, Chris! I hope you enjoy this place :) .

Thank you, Kyng, I certainly am so far! :)

Welcome and enjoy the board Chris.

Thank you, Spice :)

it sounds wonderful PGen98 !

It is quite nice, indeed! There are a lot of places to explore, as well, like Bisbee, Tubac, Lowell, Sedona and Prescott...such gorgeous places with a lot of unique things about them! Before my mother's decline my sister and I took her down to Tombstone and the OK Corral, it was so much fun!

Here's some links for a bit of a virtual tour, if you will, some really neat little towns!

Bisbee: https://www.bisbeeaz.gov/2174/Bisbee-History
Tubac: https://tubacaz.com/
Lowell: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lowell,_Arizona
Sedona: https://visitsedona.com/
Prescott: https://www.prescott-az.gov/

Welcome to the community
Thank you, mist, it's been a truly welcoming community so far :)

It certainly is! Tombstone in particular is quite literally wild west country as it's where the shootout at the OK Corral took place, the town even has staged gunfights, people in period costume and horse and carriages riding around all day, it's a proper time warp :D. The rest of the towns are just absolutely gorgeous and have some really fun places to visit.

(whoops, just noticed the link I posted to Bisbee didn't really show much of Bisbee itself, here's a photo gallery from the Visit Bisbee website, it's a really picturesque little town! https://www.discoverbisbee.com/photo-gallery )
