Coronavirus Thread

TLDR: Coronavirus Thread
In a forum thread discussing the ongoing Coronavirus situation, users expressed concerns about the high number of new cases and deaths in England, with expectations of continued lockdowns possibly extending through multiple winters. The discussion noted some positive developments, such as London potentially passing its peak of cases and some individuals receiving both doses of the vaccine. However, concerns were raised about the interval between vaccine doses being extended to three months, and the emergence of new virus mutations, such as one from Brazil, which may not be covered by existing vaccines. This led to fears about the indefinite continuation of lockdowns. Personal stories shared by users, including one about a family member in ICU, underscored the virus's impact on individual lives. The thread also highlighted frustrations with people not adhering to guidelines and mixed feelings about the government's cautious approach to easing lockdown restrictions.
Thought we could have a thread just to discuss anything Coronavirus related.

England have over 60,000 new cases and over 1,000 deaths in the last 24 hours.

Doesn't seem to be getting any better and we could be in Lockdown until at least March :(

I think it might be this way for a few winters yet. It isn't going to get any better until widespread vaccinations can be carried out.

omg now there is another mutation this time from Brazil which they can't say the vaccine will protect against , we are never getting out of lockdown at this rate! it's all very depressing

Heard this morning that my Hubby's cousin is in the ICU on a Ventilator. she was in recovery for Cancer. Truly makes it very real when it's someone we know :(

Boris Johnson dismisses calls to speed up lockdown easing as daily Covid cases drop to 4,712 – the lowest since September in 14% week-on-week fall while deaths plunge by 38% – and says he will continue to take a 'cautious and prudent approach'
