York Sensational Brownies
3 sticks butter, melted
3 cups sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
5 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
24 small York peppermint patties
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In bowl, combine butter, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs; stir until well blended. Stir in flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; blend well. Reserve 2 cups batter. Spread remaining batter into greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Place patties in single layer over batter. Spread with reserved batter. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes, or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan.
