SOUR CREAM CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES From Sugar




1 1/2 cups sugar

1/2 cup sour cream

1/4 cup butter or margarine -- softened

1/4 cup shortening

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 egg

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 (11 1/2 ounce) package milk chocolate chips (2 cups)



Heat oven to 350F. Beat sugar, sour cream, butter, shortening, vanilla

and egg in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with

spoon. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt. Stir in chocolate chips.

Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls** about 2 inches apart onto

ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until set and just

beginning to brown. Cool 1 to 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to

wire rack. Makes approx. 3 dozen.
