Prince Phillip Has Passed Away

The Duke of Edinburgh - Prince Philip - has died, Buckingham Palace has said.

A statement from Buckingham Palace said: "It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

"His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle."

The Duke was married to Queen Elizabeth II for more than 70 years and became the longest-serving consort in British history.

It's a shame, I truly hope the Queen has support around her at what must be a trying time. It's sadly not really a surprise, given what poor health he has been in over these past few years, but it is still quite the shock.
