I have a great taste for old songs. Some of them from the classic era. They still do not fail to amuse us. The kind of composition and structuring, amazing how they are acceptable even today. It was a time when music was scarce. You do not have all those super good electronics which will get you music on demand. Radio sets ruled the realm. Some songs were played often and there is no way you can replay them. Really ? funny, right ?

One of my favorite playlists right now is the GTA San Andreas radio playlist, and it's just full of amazing, older songs from the 70/80/90's that are absolutely timeless. Dare I say it , a heck of a lot of these songs are much better than those that are around today as well. Music just seemed that much more 'pure' back in the day, with more soul to boot.

It is nice to see that there people who think this is normal. I thought it is a craze I have. A habit of staying in the past or a love for the lost.

Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of music from the 00's, 10's that I do like and listen to regularly (although mainly the 00's I have to say) but there is just something about music from back in the day that is just ten times better. Like I said, it's like it was actually written for the love of the music and not just the paycheck you were hoping to get from the record company. Even tours/concerts nowadays feel like a money making machine and not an actual 'tour'.

+1

Some new gen music has a different charm. The only problem is that the market is not like it used to be in the old days. When a song was released in 1970, it was celebrated so much that people simply take a day off to listen or live it.

Now they release it on YouTube, people listen to it for 10 days and forget. The publisher is only interested in no. of views and subscribers. That will affect the music production overall.
