My Grandma's Chocolate Fudge Icing
This is another one of my grandmother's concoctions. This recipe is like fudge when it hardens. You have to work very fast once it is ready to put on the
cake.
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 squares unsweetened chocolate
Place all ingredients (except vanilla extract) in pan. Stir over low heat. Bring to a full boil for 1 minute; remove from stove and beat by hand until
WARM to LUKEWARM (no more than that or it will become to thick). Stir in vanilla extract. Spread on cake and allow to cool (it hardens as it cools). All
you have to do is pour over cake and it should cover the entire cake without using a knife, if it is the right consistency.
If you have any left over, put onto a plate and later you can cut it into little squares and eat as fudge.
