DEEP DISH PIZZA
3 c. Bisquick mix
3/4 c. cold water
1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
1/2 c. finely chopped onion
1 (14 oz.) jar pizza sauce
1 (12 oz.) ball Mozzarella cheese, grated
Mix Bisquick and water until soft dough forms; beat 20 strokes. Place on
floured board and knead about 20 times. With floured hands, press dough
evenly
on bottom and up sides of greased jelly roll pan. Lightly brown ground beef
and onion; drain off fat. Spoon pizza sauce over dough and spread evenly.
Distribute
meat evenly over top. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake at 425 degrees for
about 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Watch cheese carefully the last 5
minutes. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
Note: Use your choice of meat, sliced mushrooms, olives, and green onion (if
desired). You can also use half Cheddar cheese and half Mozzarella cheese.
I use either ground beef or pork sausage and sprinkle on some chopped
pepperoni, topping it with 8 ounces Mozzarella and 4 ounces Cheddar cheese.
This
pizza has a nice tender crust for the grandchildren!
