Crunchy Onion Mashed Potatoes

Crunchy Onion Mashed Potatoes
6 cups prepared hot mashed potatoes
2 (8 ounce) cartons sour cream
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 (2.8 ounce) cans French's Original or Cheddar French fried onions
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In bowl, combine mashed potatoes, sour cream, milk and garlic powder. Spoon half of mixture into 2 quart casserole. Sprinkle with 2/3 cup onions and 1/2 cup cheese. Top with remaining potato mixture. Bake for 30 minutes, or until hot. Top with remaining 2/3 cup onions and 1/2 cup cheese. Bake for 5 minutes, or until onions are golden.
