2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup light corn syrup
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon soda
1 cup peanuts -- or pecans
7 1/2 quarts popped corn

Combine brown sugar, butter, syrup, and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a
boil; boil 5 minutes. Beat in soda vigorously. Stir in peanuts. Place
corn in a large shallow pan. Pour sugar mixture over corn; stir. Bake at
200° for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Yield: 7 1/2 quarts.
