1 1/2 c. black beans

4 slices bacon, chopped & fried

1 clove garlic, crushed

1 onion, chopped

1 tsp. chili powder

Salt & cayenne pepper

Meat stock or broth

2 c. cooked rice

Wash beans, cover with 5 cups water. Soak overnight (or bring to boil, boil 2 minutes, cover and let stand 1 hour). Boil beans in salted water until tender.

Drain. Add bacon, garlic and onion. Season with chili powder, salt, cayenne. Add broth to cover beans and simmer until beans fall apart. A little and make
