Baked Party Dip (Artichoke and Cheese Spread)

1 loaf unsliced dark bread
1/4 lb. butter
1 bunch scallions, chopped
6 cloves minced garlic
8 oz. cream cheese
16 oz. sour cream
12 oz. grated cheddar
12 oz. marinated artichokes, drained, chopped

Make a bread shell. Saute next 3. Add cream cheese. Add next 2. Add artichokes. Fill bread shell. Wrap in heavy foil. Bake at 350F 1 1/2-2 hours. Serve hot or cool and chill overnight, slice and eat like a sandwich.
