Stuffed Haystacks

Stuffed Haystacks
1-1/4 pounds ground meat of any kind
2 onions
4 cloves garlic
2 raw potatoes
4-1/2 ounces grated hard cheese, plus extra for topping
1 egg
3 ounces milk
2-3 tablespoons mayonnaise
Salt and spices
Finely chop onions and garlic. Combine meat, onions, garlic, spices, salt
and milk. Grate and combine potatoes and cheese, add egg and salt and stir
again to combine. Form meat mixture into round patties. Make an indentation
in the center of each patty and fill it with potato-cheese mixture. Brush
tops of patties with mayonnaise. Place into a greased baking pan. Bake in
preheated 375-degree oven for 25-30 minutes. 5 minutes before end of baking,
sprinkle with additional grated cheese.
