Hungarian Cream Cake
2 cups sifted cake flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 1/4 cups heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
Sift flour once; measure; add baking powder and salt; sift together three times. Gradually add sugar to eggs and beat well. Add flour mixture alternately with cream, a small amount at a time, beating after each addition, until smooth. Add vanilla. Pour into greased 9 by 5 by 3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes. If desired, spread chocolate frosting on top and sides of cake.
