Herring Tartar
1-2 servings
5-1/2 ounces salted herring fillet
1 onion
1 avocado
1 teaspoon oil
Pinch of salt
2 teaspoons vinegar
Finely dice onion, place into a small bowl and cover with vinegar. Let stand
for 5 minutes to marinate the onion and rid it of bitterness. Finely dice
herring and place into a large bowl. Drain onion and add to herring. Peel,
pit and mash avocado and add to the bowl. Season with salt and pour in oil.
Mix well. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
