EASY BUT FANCY COOKIES



1 c. butter, softened
1 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
1 1/4 c. flour
1 c. quick cooking oats
1 box Chocolate Star candy

Cream butter and sugar. Add extract. Stir in flour and oats. Shape into 2 rolls each 1 1/2 inch in diameter. Wrap in waxed paper and chill.

Preheat oven to 350. Cut rolls into 1/4 inch slices. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Top each slice with a chocolate star. Bake 10-12 minutes, until light golden brown. Yield 6-7 dozen cookies.
