People Don't Fake Depression

Depression.jpg

People don't fake depression, they fake being ok.
I don't know if the quote actually belongs to Robin Williams, however, I found the quote on Robin Williams' photo. Robin Williams died of suicide and they say suicide was a result of depression.

I think that is very true about people faking being okay. I know I've personally done it a lot of times, although more recently I tend to embrace my emotions a lot more and if I'm not okay I won't necessarily try to keep going.

We live in a society where mental health issue is considered taboo, that's the reason why people fake mental disorders and try to smile and look okay. For a lot of people, it is too easy to say I have cancer, instead of I have depression.

I have to agree the depression does happen among the people. We have to understand that depression can lead to many different things that can affect life. And we have to understand how effectively we have to combat this. Often society around does not help and continues to put us into the churning wheel.

I can't see how depression could be faked, and if the person was faking, I think it would be easy to tell. I am depressed every day of my life with one good day here and there, life is a struggle for me.
